46°41'58.365" lat. -91°59'49.0128" long. @ 30m by David Bowen refers to the source location where the water surface data was collected for this series. An autonomous aerial vehicle hovering 30 meters above the surface of Lake Superior scanned the water. For this series of five, the vehicle was deployed to the same location on different days and in different weather conditions. The collected data was used to carve a series of cylindrical three-dimensional models in clear acrylic with a CNC router. This process captured the dynamic movements of the waves and ripples from a specific time and location and suspended this ever-changing water pattern into a static transparent form.

Compass 02005 by Lawrence Malstaf is an orientation machine to wear around your waist. It directs you left and right while walking. It guides you through virtual corridors, rooms and doors programmed in the physical exhibition space, or any location. The apparatus imposes an attraction or repulsion on your waist, like you are in a magnetic field. You can explore this environment and discover a tactile architecture.

Davide Tidoni contributes to exhibition Où sont les sons? Where are sounds? with Night Walks
Night Walks is a series of sound performances and listening exercises presented in outdoor spaces at night. The activities are based on Davide Tidoni's current research on sound propagation in open space, active listening, and the staging of site-specific actions that involve the use of microphones and loudspeakers as performative instruments. Each night has its own specific program and is designed in relation to the encountered spaces. Walking in the city with Davide Tidoni is an opportunity to detect sounds, recognise them, be alert to them.

FLOATING BEAM
MURMUR - NETWERK, AALST (B)
Netwerk - Centrum voor Hedendaagse Kunst, Aalst (B)

Until 2 July 2017

The supporting beam has become an iconic image for the twentieth century, for an ever expanding world of steel and concrete. Infrastructure lends humans stability and control over the circulation of goods and persons.
This series refers to this world under stress. Listening to the internal activity of solid structures reveals the transformatory nature of infrastructure itself and of the fabricated stability of these platforms, vessels and passageways (a metastability). Read more

Mental Overdrive, who alongside artists like Biosphere and Bjørn Torske put Trømso and Norway on the map for electronic music, quickly became the alternative voice for music from the region through releases on R&S and Virgin. A veteran producer and DJ, whose music is born in the depths of experimentalist electronics, his recorded works and live sets are uncompromising affairs and in the latter context always a unique experience.

Mesut Arslan places the actors and the text in artist Lawrence Malstaf’s installation of spinning tops. The audience is gathered around an open arena in which not only the tops, but also the characters, start revolving around each other. In this way the director sets the inner identity of a family and the surrounding audience in motion.
